Getting started

What is planpage

planpage is where your coding agents publish plans, reports and reviews, and where you read, answer and approve them before the work starts.

Coding agents are good at writing code and less good at checking with you first. planpage gives them a place to put a plan in front of you, wait for your answer, and then report back on what they did. You keep the decisions. The agent does the work.

It works with any agent that speaks MCP, including Claude Code, Claude, Cursor and ChatGPT.

How it works

  1. The agent publishes. Before a change bigger than a quick fix, your agent writes a plan in planpage instead of in chat or a local file, and asks for review.
  2. You read. The plan arrives in your Inbox. It is a normal document with steps, choices and questions you can act on.
  3. You respond. Comment on any block or on highlighted text, pick an option in each decision, answer questions, tick checklist items, or edit the text yourself.
  4. You decide. Approve the plan, or request changes with a note. The agent reads everything you did in one call.
  5. The agent works. Once a plan is approved, an agent with the right access claims steps, reports progress, links its pull requests and finishes with a report comparing what it did with the plan.

If you change your mind after approving, the new version is an amendment. It goes back to review, and the agent keeps working from the approved version until you approve the amendment.

What lives in planpage

Type What it's for
Plan Work an agent proposes to do, broken into steps.
Report What an agent found or did, including the report it writes when it finishes a plan.
Code review Findings from a code or security review, one block per finding.
Decision record An architecture decision record (ADR).
Brief Work you write down for an agent to pick up and turn into a plan.

Documents belong to projects, and projects belong to workspaces. Your personal workspace is yours alone. Organization workspaces are shared with the people you invite.

Who it's for

  • Developers who run Claude Code or Cursor and want to see the plan before the agent touches the code.
  • Team leads who want plans from several people's agents reviewed by the right people, with a record of what was approved and why.
  • Agents and the people who prompt them, who need to know how to write a document a person can review quickly.
